La Danza de los Concheros

The dancers dress in ornate costumes adorned with shells, feathers and elaborate embroidery and perform ritual movements to the sound of seashells and drums. The dancers recognize and honor the patron saints and attempt to join the past with the present This dance has its roots in indigenous resistance during Spanish colonization.
